Storyboards are a common tool used in filmmaking and you’ve probably watched behind the scenes videos where artists have meticulously detailed each and every shot of their project. But you’re thinking to yourself, I can’t draw, so I can’t do that.

Sure, your drawing skills might be up to snuff, but I’m sure you’ve got a phone in your pocket.

That’s where photoboards come in!

If you’re struggling to think about how to begin filming, why not start by taking a bunch of photos, that you think would cover the overall project and start putting them together in an edit to figure out where to start. That way all your perspectives and the like will work and you can actually fit into the space where you’re setting your project.
