Directing Talent
When directing talent on set, it’s really advantageous for there to be a single point of contact for all information.
It’s already a strange and stressful position, to be speaking down the barrel of a camera (which has it’s own way of magnifying every little thing) and then having several people provide (occasionally conflicting… not that any of our clients do this 😜) direction.
It means that the talent is now trying to split their delivery to meet the opinions of several people in the room, who are likely all over the place which at a minimum can result in eye lines darting across the room.
Ideally all feedback should come through a single point of contact, who will not only create a stronger rapport with the talent, but also will allow this person to consolidate suggestions.
It’s difficult for someone to be happy-sad, or high energy-serious. Having one person acting as a catchall will help stop this.
But you’re smart, you get it.
