Backlight Everything*

People are always looking for filters to make their photos look better.

What if I could tell you that there’s a really simple way to make almost any shot improve at least 50%?

As you can guess from the title, you should backlight pretty much everything. Not only does it give your image a stronger sense of contrast but it helps to separate each item from the background. As you can see in the above image if there was no backlight, it’s likely the edges of the man would blend into the cattle and the cows would all form into a bigger single blob. By using the backlight to highlight the upper edge of the cattle, we get a better sense of their numbers too.

Oh and if possible, always throw up dust cause those light beams just look amazing (but probably doesn’t work for indoors) 😃
