Voice Memos

Writing a script for a video can be harder than you might think, simply because most people are far more practiced in the written word.

A useful tool for video production is the voice memos on your phone.  After you’ve written the script, it’s incredibly helpful to record it, place it on a timeline and start adding images to fit. There’s a certain distance it enables and transforms a written document into something much closer to a video, taking into account the temporal form of the medium.

It also helps to flag areas where your text may be too long and dragging. If you find yourself disengaging or losing interest, your audience is likely to be in the same boat.

Of course we’re always going to help you reduce your project down to its most essential and engaging form, but if you’re new to making videos it’s a great place to start!
